Ametrine Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 7, 2026

Our Mission: To provide high-quality software that is free forever and respects your digital sovereignty.

1. The "Plain English" Summary

We don’t want your data. We don’t sell your data. We don’t "phone home" with your private files. Most of our tools are designed to work locally on your device, meaning your information never even reaches our servers. We make software to empower you, not to track you.

2. Data We Never Collect

To be 100% clear, Ametrine Products do not:

  • Steal or "Mine" Data: We do not read your personal files, documents, or private communications.
  • Sell to Third Parties: We have never sold a user list or data point, and we never will.
  • Track your behavior: We do not use invasive "telemetry" to watch how you use your computer outside of our apps.

3. Information we Do Collect (And Why)

We only keep what is strictly necessary to run the service.

Data What? Why?
Technical Logs App version, Crash reports To fix bugs and stop the software from breaking.
Interactions Support emails to ametrine.support@ametrine.cc To help you solve technical issues.
Website Data Basic cookies via https://ametrine.cc To remember your "Dark Mode" preference and site settings.

4. Software "Free Forever" Guarantee

Ametrine Foundation is built on the principle that essential technology should not have a paywall.

  • No Cost: Our core software suite is, and will remain, free for the general public.
  • No Hidden Privacy Costs: We do not offer a "paid version" that has better privacy. Everyone gets the same high-standard protection for free.

5. Third-Party Services

If you use a feature that requires an external service (like a payment processor for donations or a GitHub login), their privacy policy applies to that specific interaction. We choose our partners based on their reputation for security and privacy.

6. Children’s Privacy

Our products are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover we have accidentally done so, we will delete it immediately.

7. Your Rights & Control

You have total control over your information. You may:

  1. Request a copy of the data we have on you.
  2. Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
  3. Opt-out of any non-essential technical logging.

8. Contact & Transparency

If you have any questions about how a specific Ametrine product handles your information, please reach out. We are an open foundation and value your trust.
